Wet Wheat Bags

A dramatic interpretation of how the fire effected the people of the Illawarra

Presented by Illawarra Flame Festival

Fire swept through the Illawarra Escarpment in October 1968 with devastating consequences, and through adversity the community used its ingenuity, sense of mateship and bravery to take the fire on and finally bring it under control.

Eaton Gorge Theatre Company is taking the true events of the time to develop a dramatic interpretation of how the fire effected the people of the Illawarra and will bring the stories to life using drama, music and soundscapes in a 30 minute preview performance of their new play.
